Jazz Band I takes first at Newport

The Bellevue High Jazz Band I took home first place in the AAA division at the Newport Jazz Festival! The Newport Jazz Festival is an annual jazz competition featuring many high schools from around Washington state, which is hosted by Newport High School. Jazz Band II was selected to appear at finals, but was unable to perform later that night.
We are incredibly proud of our students who have put in a lot of hard work and effort this year. Our jazz bands have been invited to play at some of the most important jazz venues of the year! Starbuck's 22nd Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz is happening this Friday night with performances from the top pacific northwest high schools. Jazz Band I will also be traveling to Savannah, GA to perform at Swing Central Jazz next week.
