Andy Robertson Memorial Band Director Award
The music education community lost a great man in December of 2022 with the passing of Andy Robertson. Andy was the band director at Redmond High School for over 30 years, as well as an active performer in several musical groups.

Andy approached life with a positive attitude, a kind demeanor and sincere caring about others. He was always there to lend a helping hand, show up early, stay late, and deliver well timed puns and jokes. Throughout his career he made a difference in the lives of so many kids and adults, sharing his joy of music making with everyone.
The Award
The Bellevue Jazz Festival hopes to keep the memory of Andy Robertson present in our schools and in our lives. We will present the Andy Robertson Memorial Band Director Award each day of our jazz festival to a director who demonstrates the caring and enjoyment of music that Andy did.
