35th Annual Jazz Festival showcases talent

Standing room audiences enjoyed strong performances from middle, junior, and high school jazz bands from throughout Washington State at the 35th annual Bellevue High Jazz Festival on May 6-7, 2017 held in the Bellevue High Performing Arts Center.

The festival welcomed esteemed adjudicators Roxy Coss, Matso Limtiaco, Jim Sisko, and Rob Tapper. The four adjudicators joined the Bellevue High Jazz Band I during a guest performances on Friday night, and Roxy Coss joined the Bellevue High Jazz Band I on Saturday night in a special rendition of 'Chasing the Unicorn', a song from her same-titled CD, and arranged by Bellevue High band director Edd George.

Interlake High School Jazz Band I was awarded the overall sweepstakes winner after competitive and exciting finals competitions on Friday and Saturday evenings. You can view all the winners here.
