Jazz Bands Triumph at Newport Jazz Festival
Jazz Band I was awarded first place among seven high school jazz bands in the AAA division, and Jazz Band II earned the top prize in the A/AA division at the Newport High Jazz Festival.
Bassist Jake Escobar was named Outstanding Soloist in AAA division. Other Bellevue High Jazz Band musicians receiving soloist awards were Kern Kim, Andrew McDonald, Shota Shimizu, Alex Stuart, and Winston Zhang.
