Discussion Items

• Treasurer Report - Not a lot of activity in recent months have posted approximately $1,000 in revenue due to seat cushion sales and donations. Our expenses have included transit fees and festival entrance fees.
• Disney Trips -- Due to the number of students participating, there are two early morning flights which the students will be taking. The clinic is scheduled for Sunday and the performance on Monday. The Rehearsal Schedule for the Disney trip will include rehearsals on both evenings and weekends. Wind Ensemble will be doing some in-class rehearsal.
• Ellington Competition - a recording was made of Jazz I and a CD submitted to the judges.
• Regional Solo Ensemble Festival -- Approximately 15-20 BHS band students participated. The ensembles formed for this competition will perform at the Chinook Chamber night. For the students that participate, this festival is a worthwhile experience and hopefully the number of students participating will increase.
• Spring Grants -- Band will request a grant for a Bass Amp which will cost approximately $500.
• Bellevue Jazz Festival
  • Buildings have been reserved
  • Entry forms sent out
  • Judges are set. Iris Winstanley is working on the reservations for hotels.
  • The sound crew has been scheduled
  • The photographer has been scheduled
  • The Brochure for sponsorship will be included on the web-site and also re-sent home via E-mail.
  • The registrations are starting to come in.
  • Main chair positions are filled.
  • Next month trophies to be ordered.
  • Sheilah Varon to solicit volunteers at the spring concert and then send out a follow-up E-mail.
  • Sheilah's "Lessons Learned" document provided helpful information in coordinating this years festival.
  • Leslie Bigos to obtain program printing estimates.
