Varsity Band Letter: awarded to those students who complete the requirements outlined on the page titled, “BHS Band Letter Requirements”
Most Improved: awarded to students in each ensemble who have demonstrated markedly improved musical skill during the school year.
Outstanding Section: awarded to one section of each ensemble that has consistently demonstrated a high level of musical skill and cohesiveness during the school year.
Director’s Award for Band: awarded to a senior who has given exemplary service to the bands over the course of their high school band career.
Louis Armstrong Jazz Award: nationally recognized award given to the outstanding senior member of the jazz band.
Woody Herman Jazz Award: nationally recognized award given as a “runner-up” to the Armstrong award.
John Philip Sousa Award: nationally recognized award given to the outstanding senior member of the wind ensemble.
Patrick S. Gilmore Award: nationally recognized award given as a “runner-up” to the Sousa award.
